31st July 2022 Checkmat Plymouth/ Ocean BJJ hosted a fundraising seminar for young athlete Aisha Barwick.
Aisha was lucky to be selected to represent EMMAF (English Mixed Martial Arts Federation) at the 2022 IMMAF (international Mixed Martial Arts Federation) Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi on the 17th August.
We are so happy to know that with all the fundraising events put on and the go fund me page set up, Aisha raised enough to get out and compete. It’s great that we were able to provide some support to this. The open mat was a great success with visitors from around the southwest coming along to train.
